Cultivating the Jewel of Mindfulness 2027

April 11-25, 2027

The teachings are from Har-Prakash’s comprehensive Cultivating the Jewel of Mindfulness Practitioner Training Program, which integrates Shinzen Young’s mindfulness system within a psychological-relational framework. While familiarity with Shinzen’s teachings is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite for participation.

“Har- Prakash, I have taught you what I have to teach. You know the system well. You are a world teacher. Decide how you want to teach the world. You can use some, all, or none of what you have learned from me.”
– Shinzen

Some of the topics Har-Prakash will cover include:

• Knowing your general and specific goals and customizing your retreat.
• Cultivating maximum mindfulness momentum on and off the cushion.
• Exploring mundane and supramundane insight through psycho-spiritual practices.
• Being resourced and meeting your leading edge through understanding your window of tolerance and self-regulation options.
• Learning to implement feedback loops, such as A-DARE and ION, to establish effective “Walls into Windows” strategies to support growth in formal practice and in life.
• Deepening the relationship between the core mindful awareness skills, the wholesome mind-body qualities, and the life competencies.
• Evaluating and elevating concentration, sensory clarity, and equanimity at weak, medium, and strong levels and in gross, subtle, and very subtle dimensions.
• Applying the RREFR Method to nurture the wholesome body-mind factors and the seven factors of enlightenment.
• Becoming adept at understanding the Fabrication Cycle and skillfully navigating your body-mind-behavioral conditioning.
• Exploring routes to freedom, fulfillment, and functionality.
• Understanding complete experiences and figure-ground reversals.
• Practicing partner exercises to enhance relational mindfulness.
• Connecting with nature at gross, subtle, and very subtle scales to deepen awareness.
• Developing strategies for integrating retreat experiences into everyday life.
