Executive Director

Job Duties
Business and Financial Oversight & Management
- Provide high level oversight of the Dharma Treasure organization and Retreat Center facility to ensure operations align with the mission, and that facilities are appropriately staffed and well maintained
- Manage finances, accounting and budget for the organization, including retreat payments & donations
- Provide financial reports for the Board
- Ensure that staff and contractors are paid on time and all payroll taxes are paid
- Lead annual budget development process
- Ensure that the organization obtains adequate funds to enable it to achieve its objectives.
- Ensure adequate insurance and risk management strategies/policies
Community Engagement, Marketing, and Fundraising
- Engage in ongoing fundraising in support of strategic priorities
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors
- Develop and disseminate promotional and marketing materials for retreat center and online programs
- Create monthly email newsletters
- Maintain an active social media presence for Dharma Treasure
- Keep the Dharma Treasure website up to date
- Develop and facilitate community building and outreach initiatives
- Oversee recruitment of volunteers and coordinate projects to utilize their various talents
Educational Program Development, Coordination and Support
- Oversee the development and expansion of educational offerings (online and in person)
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with other organizations
Staff Coordination and Oversight
- Coordinate and supervise all staff, contractors, and volunteers
- Ensure communication and collaboration among staff for routine operations and special projects
- Develop, assess, and revise written personnel (including volunteer) policies and procedures
- Hire staff
Performance Management & Continuous Learning
- Regularly assess organizational progress towards strategic and business goals
- Administer annual or bi-annual community surveys
- Regularly review retreat surveys and administer community surveys; develop and implement systems improvements
- Regularly review staff performance and develop and track improvement plans
- Identify and implement needed on-site facility management systems improvements
Policy and Process Development
- Develop, assess, revise, and implement organization-level financial and operational policies and procedures
- Develop, assess, revise, and implement Retreat Center policies, procedures, and manuals
- Ensure staff are trained in policies and procedures
Strategy and Planning
- Support the development of the vision, mission and overall direction of the organization
- Support the development of goals and strategic priorities to achieve the mission
- Support the identification and prioritization of strategic initiatives
- Execute the mission and strategic initiatives
Skills / Capabilities Required
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (or equivalent); Google Drive; Google Docs; video conferencing platforms

Experience / Qualifications
- Masters degree or above (or Bachelor’s with additional relevant work experience)
- At least 2 years of organization management experience (nonprofit preferable)
- Regular meditation practice and retreat experience
Compensation
Modest salary and benefits, commensurate with experience
